Jeff Chapman is a retired Sergeant from the Phoenix Police Department after 33 years of dedicated service to the community. Jeff served in patrol, investigations, and training bureaus throughout his career, where he obtained advanced instructor certifications in firearms, defensive tactics, defensive driving, high risk vehicle stops and DUI investigations. Early on in his career Jeff fell in love with teaching, specializing in field training of new officers. Starting in 1990, he focused his learning into the concepts of field training and instruction at the basic academy levels. Over the years he has taught at the Phoenix Regional Police Academy basic, in-service, and advanced levels, He was later fortunate enough to start teaching nationally on topics of field training and Drug Recognition Expert schools. Jeff joined the National Association of Field Training Officers, (NAFTO) in 1998, and has served as the AZ-State Chapter Director, and on the National Executive board. Jeff served as the Executive Director for NAFTO for nine years, advancing FTO concepts throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Jeff is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University, with a Associate Degree in Applied Science in Law Enforcement, Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Education with a specialization in Criminal Justice, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a specialization in Government.
